I’m privileged to have known Bob and Dizzy, a pair of friendly blackbirds, for the last 4 years and they feature in many of this series, as do the resident red squirrels. My back garden wall forms one edge of Bob’s territory and he patrols it frequently and ferociously.

After painting various dry-stone walls around the Scordale Valley, it was my own back garden wall that eventually won most of my attention! Probably because I spend a lot of time looking at it and watching the wildlife living on it, in it and within its shadow.
